Vendor Spotlight: Salthouse Catering

As a planner, we love collaborating and working with the very best industry partners to make each of our client's events successful and an experience to remember! Over the next few weeks, we are going to highlight a few of our favorite, preferred vendors and give you the inside scoop on why we believe they are some of the best in their fields. Starting out, we wanted to highlight one of our favorite caterers, Salthouse Catering!

Salthouse Catering started in 2013 when Tanya Gurrieri and Todd Mazurek struck out on their own after catering for other companies for many years. They wanted to create an owner-operated, chef-driven, luxury catering experience for events in Charleston and the surrounding Lowcountry.  Salthouse Catering is committed to offering local, seasonal and sustainable products for Farm Fresh Full Service Catering.  Salthouse Catering started with just the two of them and has grown over the last 7 years to be able to accommodate more events per day while keeping their high quality of standards firmly in place.  

"We LOVE working with a planner and highly recommend our clients hire a seasoned planner for their big day.  We preach that the investment more than pays for itself in the time and money that can be saved by hiring a professional planner to help navigate the planning and execution of the biggest party they’ve even thrown. Our relationship with the planner is of vital importance to us.  The long term partnership allows us to work as a team in the best interest of the client and the event." Their beautiful, bountiful stations like our “Best of Season” display - featuring seasonal vegetables, artisan cured meats and house smoked salmon, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Chef Attended tasting plates that are an efficient, beautiful way to serve dinner.  Our Slow Braised Beef Short Rib is made with lots of love and always a crowd pleaser!

Another tasting plate Salthouse is well known for is their award winning Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Bourbon Brown Sugar Gravy, Mac and Cheese.  Their fried chicken has won multiple awards both locally and at a Fried Chicken Festival in New Orleans, LA, delish!

A word from Tanya during this crazy time in history with COVID19:

"Salthouse is working hard during this time to be productive so we’re ready to go back to work as soon as possible.  We’re using our downtime to ServeSafe certify our team for Covid 19 food handling, modify our styles of service and menu selections for utmost food service safety and have heightened our on and off premise sanitation to protect the health of our employees, clients and event guests. We look forward to working with you all again soon!"
